Gemini Intros Philips Remotes For DVD, HD Products

Clifton, N.J.— Two Philips-brand remote control models have joined the Digital Device Dedicated Universal lineup, from Gemini Industries, providing functionality for television, DVD, satellite TV, audio/home theater and DVR.

Both new remotes are ideal for consumers who want to combine audio and video remotes into one that features an easy, user-friendly interface. The keypads are color-coded according to device.

The Philips 5 Device DVD Universal Remote, model PHDVD5, offers 32 of the 35 total possible keys necessary to operate virtually any DVD player on the market. The remote's advanced functionality also encompasses satellite TV, along with television, VCR and cable. The unit boasts learning capability enabling 43 learning keys per device. Its easy keypad layout enables instant identification of DVD and satellite functions.

Suggested retail is $16.99.

The Philips 8 Device Digital Universal Remote, model PHHD8, is said to be the first of its kind to provide advanced functionality for LCD, plasma, digital DDS, digital cable, digital set-top, HDTV and HD-ready TV. It also encompasses DVD, DVR and satellite TV. Its learning capability enables 44 learning keys per device. Keypad layout enables instant identification of DVD, DVR and HD digital functions.

Suggested retail is $29.99, and availability is scheduled for the fourth quarter.
