Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft, and Craig Barrett, CEO of Intel, will be keynote speakers at the 2005 International CES, to be held Jan. 6 to 9 in Las Vegas. Gates will give his traditional Pre-Show Keynote Address on Wednesday, Jan. 5, at 6:30 p.m., while Barrett, who has also been a CES keynoter before, will deliver the Opening Keynote Address on Thursday, Jan. 6, at 8:30 a.m. ... Fay Wood, chief development officer of Warranty Corporation of America and chairperson of its SatisFusion unit, has been inducted into the National Electronics Industry Hall of Fame ... Phil Jacobs, ex-Publicis ad exec, joins CompUSA as executive VP/chief marketing officer … Whirlpool CFO R. Stephen Barrett, Jr. will resign Sept. 1, to be succeeded by company controller Roy Templin … At Sonance, Scott Sylvester promoted to product strategy director. Ken Manson promoted to product education manager. Kim-Anthony Parker, ex-NetStreams, named technical services manager. Nathan Lepchitz, ex-owner of Audio Video by Design, named eastern regional product specialist. Tony Trimble, ex-Xantech, was named western regional product specialist. Mark Ohlwiler, ex-owner of Creative Solutions, named national retail product specialist.
