Cowboy Maloney, DirecTV Celebrate 10th Anniversary

Staff -- TWICE, 7/26/2004

Jackson, Miss.— Cowboy Maloney's Electric City, the Mississippi brown and white goods chain, helped celebrate DirecTV's 10th anniversary last month in a most appropriate locale: the retailer's flagship superstore, here, where the first-ever DirecTV system was sold in the U.S.

The day-long gala included visits by Sirius' president/CEO Joe Clayton, who spearheaded Thomson's launch of the home satellite service, and former launch team member Michael O'Hara, who now serves as Thomson's executive VP/Consumer Solutions Business.

Other guests included Jackson Mayor Harvey Johnson, Jr., who proclaimed June 17 "DirecTV Day," and football great Archie Manning, who autographed commemorative footballs.
