Bluetooth Adapter Converts Cellphones To Wireless Bluetooth

Pittsburgh— Cardo Systems is offering a universal adapter for its allways, a Bluetooth mobile phone headset that fits over a user's ear or clips onto eyeglasses or sunglasses.

The adapter converts virtually any standard mobile phone into a Bluetooth-capable cellphone. Once plugged into the audio jack of the phone, the device allows smooth operation with the allways headset, which also is a recent Cardo introduction.

Both the universal adapter and allways headset come paired with 2.5mm cellphone jacks and additional connector for many older models. The adapter also comes with two Velcro pads that attach to the back of any cellphone, eliminating the need for cumbersome buckle attaching.

To protect the allways, a carrying case is made available in the retail package. Users can clip the carrying case around their belt or carry it in their briefcase.

The headset, which provides up to 6.5 hours of talk time and up to 200 hours of standby time, includes noise-cancellation; a separate mute button; and a single multifunction control button for ease of receiving, initiating and terminating calls.

Suggested retail for the allways Bluetooth headset is $89.95. A headset and universal adapter combo has a suggested $149.95 retail. Availability had been set for mid-May.
