Maguire Leaves Circuit City Post

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 5/3/2004

Richmond, Va.— Circuit City's top merchant, Kim Maguire, left the chain late last month.

In a statement that announced his resignation, no successor was named, although a search is underway for his replacement. Until then, the company's merchandising organization will report to chairman/CEO Alan McCollough.

Maguire joined Circuit City in November 2001 as executive VP/merchandising, succeeding John Froman who was promoted to chief operating officer. He was recruited from Target, where he had held various merchandising positions during his 20 years with the mass merchant, most recently as senior VP/hardlines.

Maguire was promoted to chief merchandising officer in 2003.
