Whitefire Ties Headphone To Mobile Entertainment

By Staff -- TWICE, 4/5/2004

FARMINGDALE, N.Y.— The digital wireless Whitefire automotive headphone from Unwired Technology delivers up to four stereo channels at one time.

The unit enables users to choose from a variety of onboard media sources, such as DVD players, CDs, video games, radios and other devices.

Whitefire technology offers high-quality, uncompressed digital mono or stereo sound that enables users to enjoy a variety of channels in much the same way they do aboard a commercial airliner, but with far superior sound, according to the maker.

When combined with two audio sources from the head unit, Whitefire integrates the vehicle's mobile video system for complete family entertainment.

This year, Unwired is introducing a small accessory to the Whitefire system. Called the W4E-11, the small emitter permits front seat passengers to take full advantage of all media sources in the vehicle. The new item can be purchased separately from the main Whitefire system. Whitefire carries a $599 suggested retail, plus installation for a digital encoder box, LED transmitter and two four-source digital headphones. Additional headphones each have a suggested $179 retail.
