TDK Expanding Recordable DVD Media Offerings

Staff -- TWICE, 3/22/2004

Garden City, N.Y.— TDK is expanding its lineup of recordable DVD media, offering a large number of new solutions for creating and sharing digital video, multimedia and data.

TDK is also adding a second-generation UV-protected Armor Plated DVD media and photo-quality printable DVD discs for Epson Stylus inkjet printers.

The Armor Plated DVD media adds an ultraviolet protection layer that guards against UV damage to the print. The photo-quality printable DVD discs are optimized for high resolution and color-perfect DVD surface printing with the latest generation of Epson inkjet printer models that feature direct printing on CD or DVD surfaces.

Armor Plated DVD media with UV protection will be available early this winter in DVD-R format at a suggested retail of $5.99 each.

The printable DVD media will be available in the first quarter in DVD-R format at an estimated retail of $3.99 each.

Along with these introductions, TDK is showcasing its Certified Plus 8x-speed recordable DVD media, which offer the fastest burning speeds of any blank DVD media available, TDK said. It provides error-free recording with TDK's current lineup of high-speed internal and external Indi DVD burners.

The 8x DVD media is fully compatible with all drive speeds, even older 1x-speed drives.

Suggested retails are $2.99 for a 1-pack jewel case and $29.99 for a 10-pack jewel case.
