NATM Holds Spring Meet

Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 3/22/2004

San Antonio— The NATM Buying Corp. will hold its annual Spring Conference here later this week at the Westin La Cantera Resort.

The meeting, which runs from March 25 through March 28, will bring together a larger and more diverse organization, reflecting the addition of three new member dealers since the New York-based buying group convened here last year.

The new faces will belong to Boscov's, the $1 billion East Coast department store; Grant's Appliance & Electronics, a six-unit Chicago area regional; and Electronic Express, a CE specialty chain with 15 stores throughout mid-Tennessee.

They'll be joined this week by such suppliers as Electrolux, GE, Haier, Hitachi, JVC, Kenwood, LG Electronics, Maytag, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Thomson and Toshiba.

Besides rounds of core supplier meetings, the agenda also includes an HDTV transition update from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), a state of the industry presentation by Pacific Media Associates senior VP Tom Edwards and a Friday evening dinner at a Western-style ranch.
