Linear Buys OmniMount Systems

CARLSBAD, CALIF.— A/V equipment mounting solutions maker OmniMount Systems has been acquired by Linear LLC, based here.

OmniMount, based in Phoenix, entered in the market in 1978 with a loudspeaker mounting system called the OmniMount. Today, the company's product lineup includes flat-panel TV mounting systems, speaker stands, A/V furniture, CRT mounts and mounting products for the professional audio industry.

These products complement brands sold by other Linear companies — namely Elan Home Systems speakers, SpeakerCraft speakers, ChannelPlus whole house audio/video distribution systems, OpenHouse structured wiring products and Xantech residential infrared remote controls for home entertainment systems

Geoff Miller, OmniMount executive VP, said, "All of the companies under the Linear umbrella are the best in their categories, and we are excited to bring our own brand of excellence to the group. Linear, a pioneer in engineered radio frequency (RF) products, is a worldwide supplier of wireless residential security systems, intercoms, garage door operators, gate operators, short and long range radio remote controls and medical/emergency reporting systems.

In recent years the company, through acquisition, expanded into consumer electronics, home entertainment products and structured wiring systems for the builder market.
