Duracell Offers Added-Capacity Battery

Staff -- TWICE, 2/9/2004

BETHEL, CONN.— Duracell is making available a new, increased capacity AA nickel metal-hydride (NiMH) rechargeable battery and a high-speed charger designed for high-drain digital cameras.

The Duracell 2050mAh NiNH rechargeable, said to increase the power of a single charge by 14 percent, is an upgrade from the company's 1800mAh rechargeable.

Along with the batteries, Duracell is introducing a "more convenient" 30-Minute Charger that will simultaneously charge up to four AA or AAA cells within a 30-minute time frame. The charger takes its place in a line that already includes the 1-Hour Charger and the Quick Charger, with two- to three-hour charge time. Both charge AA and AAA rechargeable batteries.

The 2050mAh rechargeable AA batteries are available in two- and four-cell blister packs, at suggested retails ranging from $6.99 to $11.99.

The 30-Minute Charger is packaged with four AA 2050mAh capacity cells. Suggested retail for the charger with four AA batteries is $44.99.
