Jabra Enters Mobile Speakerphone Category

SAN DIEGO— A new Bluetooth speakerphone from Jabra, which the company said is its first entry into the mobile speakerphone category, is a cordless, portable product that works with the latest Bluetooth phones and allows convenient hands-free conversations in the car, home and office.
Called the Speakster, the unit, which is expected to ship in the first quarter for about a suggested $119 retail, is a lightweight, high-quality mobile speakerphone with adjustable volume levels and microphone.
The Speakster is primarily designed for use in a vehicle, fitting today's car interiors as well as other locations. It features superior sound and includes answer/end and mute buttons, the company said. In addition, it is equipped with a privacy option through use of a corded headset.
Speakster requires no installation and can be moved from one location to another. It comes with two mounting accessories, a windshield suction cup and a clip to attach to a sun visor or car window.
The unit is fully compliant with Bluetooth 1.1 or higher devices that support the headset or hands-free profile. It has a range of up to 30 feet to a mobile phone, uses rechargeable AA batteries and provides up to 12 hours of talk time, 20 days of standby time.
An AC adapter and an in-car adapter, which allows use while charging, also are included.
