Wave Industries Floods CES With Olympia Phones

By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 1/26/2004

Las Vegas— Wave Industries crested into CES with a number of new, Olympia-branded home telecommunications products.

The company made two additions to its InfoGlobe product line, the OL3010 and OL3020, integrating the previously standalone InfoGlobe into a corded and cordless phone. The company also introduced a style-conscious 2.4GHz analog phone and a new expandable line of 5.8GHz phones.

The OL3020 cordless and OL3010 corded phones both feature a built-in InfoGlobe, a translucent blue dome with floating LEDs that projects caller ID, time, date, and preset and customizable messages and greetings onto a wall or ceiling.

The Olympia OL3010 and the OL3020 InfoGlobe phones are priced at a suggested $59.95 and $79.95, respectively. Wave will continue to sell its stand-alone InfoGlobe (without phone) that projects just the time, date and messages.

The 2.4GHz analog OL2430 Tango phone features "dancing colored LEDs" that flash when the phone rings and interchangeable colored faceplates. The handset is available in blue, purple or orange and also comes with three interchangeable faceplates. The Tango will sell for a suggested $49.95. Ship date was not available.

Wave also introduced a new series of 5.8GHz cordless phones that will ship in the first quarter.

The OL5870 is a multi-handset phone system, expandable to four, with an integrated digital answering machine that offers three separate mailboxes and a 50-message capacity for a suggested $99.95. Accessory handsets ($49.95) feature caller ID, 50-number memory and a five-number redial.

The Olympia OL5860 has all the features of the OL5870 model without the digital answering machine. It will sell for a suggested $79.95.

The OL5810 and OL5800 are comparable phones but are not expandable. The OL5800 will sell for a suggested $49.95. The OL5810 adds an answering machine for a suggested $69.95.
