Verbatim Ships Printable DVD-R Media

By Staff -- TWICE, 12/8/2003

Charlotte, N.C.— Media designer, developer and manufacturer Verbatim is shipping its new DataLifePlus Thermal-Printable 4x DVD-R media, which offers the same 4.7GB capacity, premium quality and 1x-4x write speed found in the company's DVD-Recordable media.

The DataLifePlus media also has a disc structure and surface coating that allows full compatibility with leading thermal printers. The printable DVD-R discs provide an unobstructed surface that allows them to print photos and artwork on the entire disc surface.

At 4x speed, the entire DVD-R disc can be recorded in about 15 minutes. It can be played back by most DVD-ROM drives and DVD-video players in use today.

Suggested retail for the printable 4x should be about $2 per disc.
