ProLine Shields Discs From Scratch Damage

Staff -- TWICE, 11/10/2003

Denver — ProLine is offering Disc Guard, a proprietary formulated polycarbonate film shield, which protects the data or non-printed side of music CDs, DVDs, game discs, CD-Rs, CD-RWs, photo CDs and CD-ROMs, so consumers don't have to worry, for example, when friends want to borrow a disc for an extended period.

The protective film shield allows optimum quality from a laser, while protecting discs from scratches or permanent damage from fingerprints, spillage or mishandling. Should the Disc Guard ever become scratched, it can be removed from the disc and replaced.

The pressure sensitive material is safe for use in all automatic disc-loading players and recorders. Suggested retail is $12.95 for a 10-pack, and bulk quantities were scheduled for fall availability.

Disc Guard has entered an open door into the rental end of the CE business, where DVD and game disc rental retailers have found the product keeps their inventory in "just opened" condition.
