Canon Intros Two MultiPASS MFPs

By Doug Olenick -- TWICE, 11/10/2003

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y.— Canon will ship two new MultiPASS multifunction printers in November.

The MultiPASS MP370 and MP360 will have, respective, estimated street prices of $199 and $149 and feature 18 page per minute (ppm) text and 12ppm color print speeds. The print head delivers a maximum print resolution of 4,800 by 1,200 through a 5-picoliter print nozzle and the printers incorporate Canon's proprietary MicroFine Droplet Technology. The printers connect to a PC via a USB 2.0 port.

The MP370 includes two additional features. It has PictBridge printing technology allowing any PictBridge-equipped digital camera or camcorder to directly connect and print images from the printer. The MP370 also has onboard flash memory card slots that can accommodate most industry standard cards.

The MultiPASS models have a 48-bit 1,200dpi optical scanner and can operate as standalone printers capable of making text copies at 18ppm and color copies at 12ppm.
