XM Hits 1-Million Subscriber Mark

WASHINGTON— XM Satellite Radio announced it surpassed the 1-million subscriber mark, less than two years since its national debut.

XM said it is one of the fastest growing media formats ever (see table below).

It should be noted that satellite radio, as a whole, surpassed the 1 million mark in one year and 10 months (including Sirius Satellite Radio subscriptions, which tallied 149,612 as of Sept. 30.)
