Circuit City Names New Officers

Richmond, Va.—Circuit City cited a slate of recently hired and/or promoted officers during the company's annual meeting here last month.

Newly named senior VPs included Ronald Baime, George Clark, William Denney and Carl Liebert.

Baime is responsible for managing the chain's computer, imaging, wireless, video and home audio businesses. He joined Circuit City last year from Best Buy, where he was VP/music for Musicland.

Clark oversees the company's Eastern division. In his 20 years with Circuit City, he has served in a variety of store operations positions, including store director, district manager and regional VP.

Denney is responsible for managing the music, movies, games and mobile businesses, after having served in a variety of marketing and merchandising positions during his 24 years with the company.

Liebert is responsible for Circuit City's Western division. He began in corporate operations three years ago and developed the company's Six Sigma program. He previously spent eight years with GE Appliances.

Named to VP posts were Jayne Heggen, Marc Sieger, Judith Simon and Daniel Tierney.

Heggen joined Circuit City in 2002 and is responsible for marketing services. He previously served as president of The Heggen Group, an independent consultancy.

Sieger joined Circuit City earlier this year to oversee warranty administration. He previously spent 13 years at GE working in such departments as finance, marketing, e-commerce, sales and business development.

Simon began her Circuit City career in 1990 and oversees inventory planning and management, including the supply-chain team, vendor standards and music-inventory management.

Tierney serves as president of First North American National Bank (FNANB). He joined Circuit City in 1988 as corporate accountant, and began working with FNANB upon graduating from law school is 1994.

Promoted to assistant VP were Stephen Duchelle, Phil Foussekis, Ronald Jones, Laurie Lambert-Gaffney and Thomas Nolan.

Duchelle, who joined Circuit City in 1992 as merchandising information manager, is responsible for Circuit City's Web site, www.circuitcity.com.

Foussekis oversees the company's loss prevention department. Prior to joining Circuit City in 2000, he served as VP/loss prevention at Toys "R" Us.

Jones is responsible for procurement and supply services. He joined Circuit City in 1996 as a manager of fleet services.

Lambert-Gaffney came to Circuit City in 2000 and leads the company's Western region human resources department. She previously spent 18 years in various human resource roles at Toys "R" Us.

Nolan came to Circuit City in 2002 as director of operations strategy and developed Circuit City's relocation and remodel strategy. Prior to joining the company, Nolan spent three years at Capital One Financial Corp.
