ALISO VIEJO, CALIF.— Buy.com is making a greater commitment to consumer electronics, expanding its selection to 2,500 new home and mobile electronics products, due to a new distribution agreement and expanded relationships with a number of the site's current vendors.

Buy.com, with is ranked No. 32 in the TWICE Top 100 CE Retailers list for 2002, with $419 million in sales, said an unnamed distributor will provide the company with "a greatly expanded selection" of CE products from major brands. Among the brands mentioned are Sanyo, Harmon Kardon, Panasonic, JVC, Sharp, Samsung, JBL, Monster Cable and Audiovox.

Buy.com said it has also expanded its relationship and product offerings with its current manufacturers, such as RCA, Philips and Toshiba.

Robert Price, president of Buy.com, said that the new agreements and expanded agreements with existing vendors will especially broaden its TV selection.

The new electronics store offers more than double the previous selection of direct view, flat-panel projection and plasma TVs, the company said. Buy.com currently features a variety of TV, cellular, cameras, DVD players and home audio products.
