Park City, Utah— Skullcandy is introducing a new headphones, called Portable Link, which allows users to place and receive cellular phone calls without ever taking off the headphones. Users don't have to miss a phone call because they are listening to music or watching a movie using headphones.
The Skullcandy Portable Link is a state-of-the-art headphones, combined with hands-free cellular technology, that allows users to both listen to music from a portable audio device and send and receive calls through a cellular or desk phone at the same time.
A user's phone rings directly and gently into the headset, on top of the music, and automatically answers the call, without the user ever touching either device.
Skullcandy does not switch the music out during a call, but rather mixes the phone call directly in on top of the music, so the music continues in the background during the phone call, and the user never misses a beat. If the music volume is too loud for the conversation, the user can reduce, or even eliminate the music, with the inline volume control located on the microphone housing.
The Skullcandy Portable Link is available in five cellular phone adapters that allow it to be matched and utilized with virtually every music device/cellular telephone combination. It is available in two different model headphones, either traditional earbud-style speakers or backphones. Suggested retail is $29.95, and the product has begun shipping.
