Terk Intros Multi-room Distribution System

By Staff -- TWICE, 4/21/2003

Commack, N.Y.— Terk Technologies has added the WaveMaster 30 to its LeapFrog line of multi-room distribution systems.

The WaveMaster 30, a wireless audio/video transmitter that sends picture and sound throughout the home, is said to eliminate the hassle and expense of extra wiring. It features remote control capability and a built-in modulator, and is considered a cost-effective alternative to purchasing multiple A/V components.

Using a super-high 2.4GHz frequency band, Terk's WaveMaster 30 transmits crystal-clear audio and video signals from a source component to remote televisions or audio systems located throughout the home. The signal penetrates walls, doors, ceilings and floors for clear reception up to 100 feet away.

With the unit, a single DVD player in the living room could be used to send movies to every television in the house. Also, a video camera could be connected to it as either a video baby monitor or a security monitor.

WaveMaster 30 consists of a transmitter located at the signal source and a receiver located at the remote TV or audio system. Additional receiver modules can be added to expand the system for multi-room operation.

As an upgrade to the LeapFrog WaveMaster 20, the WaveMaster 30 features a built-in IR extender, which enables consumers to use most existing universal remotes to control the transmitter/receiver system. Suggested retail is $99.95.
