War Impact Is Mixed

TWICE did a quick poll to find out if the war in Iraq had impacted sales during the launch of the critical spring season. Results were split. Out of seven retailers, three said sales were up and the war had no impact; four said traffic was down and sales were light. "Everyone's at home watching the war," said Mike Cofield, Custom Sounds, Austin, Texas, echoing other retail reports.
