Web Site Offers Transfers

Chicago— FullAudio launched its MusicNow subscription streaming and download service, which lets users burn songs to CD or transfer them to digital portables. The service offers more than 200,000 songs from the big five music companies and independents Koch and Sanctuary. It is available through the company's www.fullaudio.com and www.musicnow.com sites and through such partners as cable company Charter Communications and EarthLink. Price: $4.95/month for streaming service, $9.95 for streaming plus on- and off-line playback of an unlimited number of downloads. Burning and transfers cost 99 cents per song.

DTS Multichannel Update

Agoura Hills, Calif.— DTS 5.1-channel soundtracks appeared on 628 Region 1 DVD-Video disc titles as of early March, and 29 titles feature 6.1-channel DTS ES soundtracks, Digital Theater Systems said. The numbers exclude multiple versions of the same title, and the discs usually include 5.1-channel Dolby Digital soundtracks. Three region-free DVD-Audio discs feature back-up DTS ES program. Two DVD-Video titles and six DVD-Audio titles feature 5.1-channel DTS 96/24 tracks.
