Monster, THX Team In High-Performance Cable Line

By Staff -- TWICE, 2/24/2003

Brisbane, Calif.— Monster Cable is teaming with THX to introduce a new cable line called the Monster Ultra Series of THX Certified Cables. The line brings to home theater enthusiasts and installers high performance cabling at a reasonable price, whether it is used with THX or non-THX certified components.

Monster, in alliance with THX, has produced the new line of certified products incorporating specifications researched and developed by THX. The certification standards include a series of electrical, physical and ergonomic specifications that guarantee top-notch sound reproduction and premium-grade construction.

By teaming with THX, Monster expects to engage a less technically oriented audience that cares about great picture and sound, but not necessarily the technology it took to get there, the company said.

The new Monster Ultra Series includes speaker cable for home theater systems and A/V receiver or amplifier for home theater speakers; and audio interconnects for hookup of stereo or multichannel formats including DVD audio, SACD, Dolby ProLogic and Dolby Digital.

Also in the series are fiber optic and digital coax for audio hookup of DVD and other components using Dolby Digital or DTS digital bitstreams; and subwoofer cable for home theater hookup of A/V receiver to powered subwoofer. Composite S-video and component video cable for high quality connection of DVD, VCR or other video sources also is included.
