Norio Ohga, chairman of Sony Corp. and one of the company's leading executives for the past two decades, has stepped down. Ohga becomes honorary chairman of the company, with CEO Nobuyuki Idei becoming chairman … Tweeter has made several executive moves. Peter Beshouri, former Sound Advice president, will once again focus on operating the Dania Beach, Fla.-based chain, following a nine-month stint heading up all Tweeter sales.

Joe LoPiccolo has been named sales VP for all Tweeter territories except Florida. Bernie Sapienza, a 13-year veteran of the chain who was most recently store merchandising VP, as left the company to pursue other interests. Bruce Levy picks up Sapienza's store merchandising duties as VP/real estate and new store development …James Adamson, Kmart CEO, has relinquished that title to president Julian Day, who assumes both roles. Adamson will remain non-executive chairman until the company reemerges from bankruptcy protection this spring …

Frank Pierce, Clarion's sales VP, named marketing VP working with Art Imoto, senior marketing and product planning VP and Tony Verheggen, senior retail sales VP…Peter S. Brown, former sales VP for national accounts at Pioneer, joins Philips Consumer Electronics as Western zone sales director …Bill Boyles, regional sales manager for Directed Electronics' new car dealer division, appointed national sales manager, a new post…Dan Mason, former president of the Infinity Radio group, was hired by iBiquity Digital to promote adoption of HD Radio technology by radio stations…Karl Lassig, VP/operations for VAC Service, has been promoted to senior VP/operations …Dennis Brown, former Krups N.A. COO, has joined NPD Group as senior analyst for its Houseworld division, covering white goods and housewares…Jim Pelech and Dave Koller of New Image Marketing have been named to represent SpeakerCraft in Illinois and Wisconsin…Najib Bahous will succeed Tim Craig as president of Lexmark's Consumer Printer Division, who is retiring …Joshua Cooper, ex-creative director for Russound, joins Atlantic Technology with the same title.
