Casauri Cases Provide High Touch Style

By Staff -- TWICE, 1/27/2003

LAS VEGAS— In an effort to appeal to the style-conscious and sensually minded consumer — whether addressing the "sensibilities of women or the hip and happening man" — portable storage maker Casauri introduced here at International CES a new line of cases for laptops and PDAs.

Called the Oracabessa Collection, cases include a backpack made from refined nylon that comes in the earth-tone colors of fresh olive, sahara brown and granite gray. The collection will be available in March at suggested retails of $32 for the PDA cases and $96 for the laptop cases.

Casauri, which designs "sleek, cool and compact cases for technology products," feels the awakening and celebrating of the senses plays an integral part in market success. The company claims to have astutely identified and executed the secret to reaching the elusive female consumer and thus supplies cases that are elegant, sensual and reflect female passions. According to the company, women want to feel and look good, and Casauri helps women accomplish both.

Casauri, which says, "appealing to women defines the future of technology," is a principal sponsor of the CES premiere of the "Technology is a Girl's Best Friend" campaign — an effort to increase the appeal of technology marketing to female consumers.

Feeling good involves integrating the visual and tactile senses, said Casauri, so its cases are both colorful and delightful to the touch.

For example, its Odyssey Collection — made from diamond-quilted polyvinyl chloride that has a futuristic appeal — offers a color palette of gunmetal, platinum, red and black. Suggested retail for the currently available Odyssey line ranges from $86 to $88 for the laptop cases and $36 for the PDA case.

For another, its Octopus Collection is made from smooth PVC, with a rubberized velvet surface. The vibrant, yet sophisticated colors for the currently available Octopus line include kiwi, grape, slate, red and black. Suggested retail ranges from $76 to $84 for laptop cases and $92 for the PDA case.
