Larry Chapman, a member of the original DirecTV launch team, will join Hughes as executive VP and work with Eddy Hartenstein, corporate senior VP of Hughes and chairman/CEO of DirecTV. As a result of Chapman's appointment DirecTV is redeploying its marketing department into sales, which will be focused entirely on customer acquisition and customer satisfaction, which will be focused on customer support and retention. Sales, distribution and customer acquisition department will be led by executive VP Steve Cox while customer support, retention and upgrade activities will be headed by executive VP Bob MeyersMark Cosby, ex-chief operating officer of Kentucky Fried Chicken, has been appointed president of Sears' full line stores, reporting to chairman/CEO Alan LacyPaul Swenson, ex- warranty administration VP for Circuit City, joins Aon Warranty Group and Aon Innovative Solutions as executive VP ... John Wehrheim was promoted by GERS Retail Systems from VP/sales to senior VP/sales, a new position. He was succeeded by Bill Wortham, who joins GERS from software designer G-Log. Also, Steve Pulver was promoted from director to client sales VP, and former sales VP Vicki Noreen was named VP/channel sales, a new position.
