Digital Video Security Kit For PC Bows

By Staff -- TWICE, 11/11/2002

Toronto— Strategic Vista International is introducing its Digital Video Security System products in North America.

Targeting both traveling execs and small businesses, the company's system turns any personal computer into a full closed-circuit television observation system.

The system allows any surveillance cameras to connect directly to the computer, set alarm features, record on the hard drive and control electrical appliances using its proprietary technologies.

The Windows-based application, when programmed accordingly, will respond to motion by triggering an alarm, call a phone number or pager, send an e-mail and initiate a host of other features. An ability to activate lights or other appliances may also be adjusted remotely with the appropriate home automation devices.

The initial line of products — including the VG1000 and the VG1100, which adds a color camera to the VG1000 — will be supported by follow-on products early next year. Suggested retails are $149 for the VG1000 and $199 for the VG1100.
