Fair Lawn, N.J.— Maxell Corporation of America has unveiled a new DVD merchandising solution, namely an in-store merchandiser that ties together the company's line of DVD media in all formats; its complete assortment of care, maintenance and storage accessories; and its line of DVD camcorder batteries.
Maxell said the prototype merchandiser is part of a merchandising strategy that allows retailers to present consumers with a strong branded DVD category statement, while meeting all their media, care and maintenance and DVD camcorder battery needs in one location.
The plan presents a full range of product options and possibilities, anticipating the consumer question: "What else do I need to get the most out of recordable DVD?"
"With a new technology such as DVD, it is important for retailers to be able to make a strong merchandising statement that answers consumers' questions and presents them with a complete solution to all their product needs," said Peter Brinkman, marketing VP.
The merchandising solution is designed to highlight Maxell's line of DVD-R/-RW, DVD-RAM, DVD+R/+RW media and DVD-RAM/-R video media, alongside the company's DVD care, maintenance and storage accessories and DVD camcorder battery business.
