Morel Enters U.S. Market

By Amy Gilroy -- TWICE, 9/30/2002

Wyndmoor, Pa.— Israeli-based Morel is officially entering the U.S. high-end autosound market, after joining the home audio market last year.

The company is currently assembling a manufacturer's rep network and has signed up 60 home audio dealers and about a half dozen car audio dealers to date. By mid-2003, Morel hopes to sell to 35 to 40 car audio dealers and approximately 100 car audio retailers, according to Alan Warshaw, president of Jason Scott Distributing, here, which is now Morel's exclusive U.S. distributor.

Morel's high-end Supremo tweeters sell for $499 per pair. The company also markets a lower-end Millenium line with 6 by 9 coaxials at $179 per pair. Warshaw says the line is unique in that, "Not only do we have top-end product, but we have a lot of drop-in speakers to fit a lot of applications."
