Crystal View Buys Madrigal Video Unit

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 9/30/2002

AMBLER, PA.— Crystal View, the high-end video projector company that recently emerged from the ashes of Vidikron, said it has acquired the Madrigal Imaging division from the high-end audio manufacturer, Madrigal.

Crystal View will run the new unit as a separate operation, maintaining the Madrigal Imaging product and trademark, and fully supporting warranty and service on all new and previously sold Madrigal Imaging products. Crystal View will continue to distribute Madrigal Imaging products to the more than 200 Madrigal dealers.

Roger Fortier, Madrigal Imaging national sales manager stated, "Madrigal completed this transfer following a review of its 5-year business plan and the identification of a buyer with similar standards for customer service and distribution. We concluded that our short but successful venture into the video category created both opportunities as well as resource conflicts with the long-term goals for our core brands."

Crystal View will now sell Madrigal Imaging MP-9 and MP-8 CRT projectors, and the MP-D1 single lens D-ILA.

"Crystal View is focused on becoming the preeminent supplier of front-projection home theater equipment," said Gary Guidi, Crystal View president. "We are excited to add the excellent Madrigal Imaging projectors to our product line, and we will continue to supply, service and support all current Madrigal Imaging dealers."
