SONICblue, JVC In Dual-Deck Pact

SANTA CLARA, CALIF.— SONICblue, which holds patents to Go-Video dual-deck VCR technology, announced that JVC will license its Dual-Deck technology for forthcoming JVC-branded combination products including a DVD/VCR.

JVC becomes the fourth major consumer electronics manufacturer to license the technology, following agreements with Thomson Multimedia, LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics.

Andrew Wolfe, SONICblue, senior VP, said his company continues to negotiate with other manufacturers and expects agreements with others over the course of the year.
