Kodak Adds 2 More Cameras To EasyShare Family

By Greg Scoblete -- TWICE, 9/2/2002

ROCHESTER, N.Y.— Kodak has added two more cameras to its EasyShare line up: the DX4330 and the CX4200.

The 3.1-megapixel DX4330 features a new, larger 1.8-inch indoor/outdoor LCD display for easier previewing and reviewing of shots in direct sunlight. It relies on a combination of transmissive and reflective display technologies that together with an anti-reflective coating minimize the glare associated with viewing pictures outdoors.

The camera will be available this month at a suggested retail price of $349.95.

The DX4330 includes an on-camera "share" button, which allows users to tag pictures for printing, e-mailing or as favorites on the camera's LCD screen. Once the images are sent to the desktop, Kodak's software automatically reads the tag and performs the designated instruction. An on-camera mode dial allows users to toggle through multiple scene modes such as close-up, landscape, sport, and night to ensure that they are taking the best possible shot in any given situation.

Like all cameras in the EasyShare line, the DX4330 is compatible with the EasyShare USB dock for picture transfers to the desktop and battery recharging. The dock is sold separately. The DX4330 sports 16MB of internal memory and is compatible with SD/MMC flash memory cards. It also features a total 10x zoom (3x optical/3.3x digital) with a Kodak Retinar aspheric all-glass lens.

The 2-megapixel CX4200 is now shipping in several retail outlets with broader distribution to follow in October. The camera has a $179 suggested retail price.

Like the DX4330, the CX4200 features a Kodak Retinar all-glass lens with 2x digital zoom and 16MB of internal memory, with an SD/MMC expansion slot for additional memory. The CX4200 features the on-camera image tagging button and a "capture always ready" capability which lets users snap a picture at any moment, regardless of what mode the camera is in.
