Fully Featured Frigidaire Is Priced Right

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 7/22/2002

Augusta, Ga.Frigidaire may have stumbled during its changeover to its new, Department of Energy-sanctioned refrigeration line, but it's more than making up for lost time with the FRS26R4A side-by-side.

A darling of dealers and consumers alike, the R4A manages to pack a full array of high-end features into an attractive package that can be sold at a surprisingly affordable price.

"The R4A is a product of extensive consumer research to find the right combination of features, appearance and ergonomics," explained Mark Chambers, general manager/marketing for Electrolux Home Products. "It is so successful because it has an appealing, friendly design that looks great in the kitchen, combined with the right assortment of features and conveniences."

Among those is Frigidaire's patented PureSource2 ice and water filtration system, which Chambers described as "the most effective and convenient in the industry." The unit also features such amenities as a humidity control crisper and four bins on the freezer door.

But Frigidaire brings it all home with the price: a suggested retail of $1,099 and enough wiggle room for $899 on special. Acknowledged Chambers, "It is recognized by consumers as a truly great value."
