Ultimate Adds Builder Division

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 7/22/2002

DENVER— Ultimate Electronics has created a new Builder & Contractor Business division that will target midsize to large builders operating in major urban markets where the company currently maintains a storefront presence.

Ultimate will offer homebuilders packages with residual structured wiring, home theater systems, multiroom audio, and security systems for homes that typically are 5,000 square feet or less.

The specialty A/V chain said the move extends current efforts to tap into the homebuilder's channel in its home state of Colorado, and leverages its retail initiatives in plasma and LCD TV, home theater, residential structured wiring and multiroom audio.

"The reorganization will greatly benefit our builder partners while maintaining superior levels of professionalism and technical expertise," said Ultimate president/COO Dave Workman. "We are excited about the opportunity to dramatically grow this part of our business by capitalizing on the increasing demand from the builder community in many of our markets."
