Leather Center Group Branches Off, Makes Home Theater Seats

Staff -- TWICE, 7/8/2002

Hurst, Texas— The Home Theater seating division of Leather Center has been spun off to form a new company called Continental Seating.

The spin-off of the division of the leather furniture manufacturer and retail chain has been undertaken by a group of ex-Leather Center employees. Internal restructuring will be invisible, while outstanding Home Theater seating orders will continue to be processed and shipped. The same individuals who were manufacturing the Home Theater seating product for Leather Center will continue manufacturing product for Continental Seating, based here.

Continental Seating will carry a similar selection of products, and provide the "quick-ship" delivery service it did as a division under the Leather Center umbrella. The new company will also offer more customization options than were previously available.

"Continental Seating will continue to offer the same margins for its dealers, based on the existing price sheets," said VP Shelly Norman. "But this time we will only concentrate on manufacturing seating for the Home Theater market."
