As anticipated, Circuit City president/CEO Alan McCollough was elected chairman at the company's annual meeting last week. He succeeded Richard Sharp, who retired from the board and left the retail chain after 20 years of service… Whirlpool has promoted Tim Yaggi to the newly created position of senior VP/general manager, brand portfolio group, with responsibility for all Whirlpool brands in North America and all sales and marketing. He was succeeded as VP/Whirlpool brand by John Alexander, formerly general manager, national accounts. Also, Karim Lalani, formerly general manager, Whirlpool Canada, was promoted to VP/general manager, Sears sales and marketing. Both report to Yaggi… Jim Braun, exec. VP/GMM was promoted to president of Recoton Audio Corp. and Terry O'Flynn exec. VP/GMM of Recoton's Accessories Division was named president of that division.
