Wambold Designs Unit For Mitsubishi Rear-Projection TV

Staff -- TWICE, 6/24/2002

SIMI VALLEY, CALIF.—Wambold Furniture is introducing a line of "perfect fit" video cabinets, headed up by its 7442-12 designed for Mitsubishis new 42-inch tabletop HD/digital rear-projection television, model WT-42311.

Wambold's cabinetry for the fall debut of this $1,999 suggested retail TV, turns the set into furniture, which can diffuse any family member's objection to the look of a big, black — in this case silver — box.

The cabinet offers wood-framed glass doors that allow for remote control of components, adjustable shelves for up to six components, large cable ports for ease of cable transit and a speaker cloth panel.

The cabinet also features an extra deep interior that accommodates a large monitor and deep audio components. It is available in four finishes on oak and two on maple at a suggested retail of $799.

Wambold will begin shipping at the end of July. Mitsubishi said it expects to have the television in stores in August.
