Nashville, Tenn. — A personal emergency warning technology has been introduced to aid Americans. Called Weather Alert, the system features a digital receiver for weather warnings and civil emergency messages that uses a combination of satellite and 900 MHz Flex technology.
Made by Page Update, the receiver is 4 inches high by 3.5 inches wide. The self-contained desktop unit operates on batteries. Suggested retail for the Weather Alert 2000 is $129.95. Subscribers pay $9.95 monthly for the 24/7 Page Update monitoring service.
Included in the service is National Weather Service urgent watches and warnings and news bulletins from the company's own operations center.
