Sidney Harman, founder and executive chairman of Harman International Industries, will receive the Electronics Industries Alliance (EIA) Medal of Honor for 2002 at the EIA's Government-Industry Dinner on April 23 in Washington D.C. Each year the EIA presents the Medal of Honor to an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the advancement of the electronics industry …Bill McGorry, senior VP of Reed Business Information's Television Group (of which TWICE is part), will receive the 2002 Joel A. Berger Award by Cable Positive, an AIDS action organization for the cable and telecommunications industry. The award is given to an executive in the industry who has made an outstanding contribution in the fight against AIDS. The event, called "Absolutely Positive," will be held on April 25 at the Marriott Marquis in New York. Hosted by comedian Jon Stewart, McGorry will be roasted during a '70s-themed variety show with music provided by the B-52's. He replaces Noria Niwa, who was named managing director and chief executive of Seiko Epson's imaging and information products.
