NATM, MARTA Moving Offices

By Steve Smith -- TWICE, 3/18/2002

NEW YORK— Two major buying groups, NATM Buying Corp. and MARTA Cooperative Of America, are on the move.

NATM, which has been headquartered at Penn Plaza in midtown Manhattan for the past decade, is looking for new headquarters space by the time the lease is up in October. Executive director Bill Trawick said that the group will remain here, possibly in the borough of Queens.

MARTA's board has agreed in principle to open executive offices in the area here, bringing executive director and area native Warren Mann back to the East Coast. MARTA will retain financial operations in Scottsdale, Ariz., headed by merchandise manager Bill Bursley who reports to Mann. The 10-person accounting staff will move to smaller offices in the Scottsdale area.

Timing of the move has not been announced.
