Madison, Wis.— Rayovac, looking to make the most out of the continuing strong popularity of video games, is repeating a retail promotion featuring a free video game CD-ROM with the purchase of Rayovac Maximum alkaline batteries.
If consumers purchase two Maximum alkaline multi-card packs or two Clear Value Packs, they can select a free CD-ROM video game from in-store displays. Consumers can also receive the game attached to specially marked packages of AA-8 Twin Packs.
The video game title selection includes "Who Wants to be a Millionaire Sports Edition," "Disney's Arcade Frenzy" and "Tomb Raider II — Starring Lara Croft."
The value-added promotion is shipping in February and March, while supplies last. Prepackaged display assortments are available.
Rayovac, for spring 2002, also is running a Free Gasoline promotion, whereby consumers can get a free $10 prepaid gasoline card when they purchase three Maximim alkaline battery multi-card packs, three Maximum alkaline Clear Value packs or five Maximum alkaline carded packs.
The back-by-mail offer allows consumers to choose a prepaid gasoline card from one of five companies — BP/Amoco, Shell, Citgo, Exxon or Mobil.
Retailers are offered a number of prepackaged display assortments designed to meet a variety of merchandising needs.
The promotion ships until the end of April, while the consumer back-by-mail offer is good through May 31, 2002.
