JBL Bows New Subs

WOODBURY, N.Y. — JBL is shipping new Power Series subwoofers, the company's first subwoofers to offer dual, 2 ohm voice coils. The new line, positioned below the GTi series, uses the same frame, cone and surround as the GTi subs as well as Kevlar-impregnated paper cones and rubber surrounds. The Power Series is designed for both sound quality and SPL. The line includes four models in single and dual ohm configurations in 10-inch and 12-inch sizes. Suggested retail prices range from $349 to $399.

IASCA Sale Finalized

NORWOOD, MASS.— The International Auto Sound Challenge Association (IASCA) announced that the agreement to sell the assets of the organization to Paul Papadeas, president of the Spring Break Nationals and Soundcrafters in Daytona, Fla., has been finalized. IASCA was sold to IASCA Worldwide, of which Papadeas is now president. "The assets of this sale are primarily the intellectual properties, including trademarks, member database and rights for all printed matter," Papadeas said. "The most important asset we will assume is the base of the most loyal competitors in the soundoff world."
