Jenn-Air Ahead Of The Curve With New Oven Line

Staff -- TWICE, 2/11/2002

Newton, Iowa— Jenn-Air, the high-end Maytag brand, has added a curve to its new line of stainless steel wall ovens. The company hopes the rounded ovens will fit the needs of consumers who seek sleek, stylish appliances that blend into the look of upscale kitchens.

In addition to the curved glass front and stainless steel finish, the ovens feature:

  • A two-speed convection system;
  • A scrolling LED screen that displays oven instructions at the touch of a finger;
  • A built-in meat probe;
  • A dehydration cycle;
  • A delayed-start function.

"Stainless steel has always been one of the most popular finishes for upscale kitchens," said Jenn-Air brand manager Susan Fisher. "With the introduction of the new wall oven, we are making the sleek, luxurious look available to new consumers with popular tastes in kitchen design."

The wall ovens are available in 27-inch and 30-inch sizes and in single and double formats. Suggested retails start at about $1,599.

In other company news, Jenn-Air has launched an accessory store on its Web site, jennair.com. In an attempt to make shopping for accessories to its major appliances easier, Jenn-Air will be offering such items as griddles for its down-draft cooktop and space-saving half-racks for ranges and ovens. The site will also sell product care items, such as cooktop cleaner, touch-up paint and replacement water filters.

"The variety of accessories we offer makes Jenn-Air products perfect for people who like to try new things," said Fisher. "Now, by bringing accessory shopping online, we'll make it possible for people to add a grill, a griddle, a wok or even rotisserie — all without leaving their home."

As part of the accessory store, the site will include a "model finder" feature that will help consumers determine which accessories fit their current appliances. Consumers can enter their model numbers, and the finder tool will tell them which cartridges and other accessories match their models.

Shipping will be free for all online purchases, the company said, regardless of order size.
