Sharp Electronics has expanded its sales force, hiring four executives. Steve McNally, ex-Toshiba and Panasonic executive, hired as VP audio/video sales, reporting directly to Rick Calacci, senior VP/general manager of the Sharp Consumer Electronics Group. Reporting to McNally will be Jim Capizzi, formerly of Sony and Aiwa, who joins Sharp as associate VP audio/video sales, Eastern region. Also reporting to McNally is Ron Sreenan, who has 20 years of experience in the CE business. Sreenan is associate VP audio/video sales, Western region. Reporting to Sreenan will be Greg Nicorata, formerly with Zenith, who joins Sharp as distributor accounts director/Western zone. Bob Walsh, VP merchandising for Sharp's audio/video products, has left the company. Walsh, who spent 10 years with Sharp and had previously was senior VP merchandising for Tops Appliance, said in a prepared statement that he expects to remain in the industry, but his future plans have not yet been set…

Gary DeFeo, JVC Recording Media merchandising manager, has been promoted to general manager of the division… Rockford reports that Paul Von Feldt remains as MB Quart's national sales manager while Bill Basore has been named national sales manager for the Q-Logic brand. And the company has named four regional sales manager that will sell both those brands and the Lighting Audio brand. The regional sales manager are: Mark Bruno, Jay Small, Jimmy Bradfield and Mike Morris…Rosemary (Ro) Wemstrom, NARDA's operations director, was recently designated as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) by the American Society of Association Executives… Olympus has promoted Stewart Muller to group VP of its Consumer Products Group. Muller had been serving as executive director, sales. Olympus also promoted Martin Lee to marketing VP for the Consumer Products Group…Steve Mandrell, appointed corporate sales director at portable storage products maker Case Logic, will focus on B-to-B sales to Fortune 1000 prospects, value-added resellers and system integrators.
