NEW ORLEANS— Audio Line Source is adding Richard Gray's Power Company Model 600S to its product lineup. The 600S offers all the same benefits as the company's larger 1200S, but at a more attractive price, making it a key purchase for the more budget-conscious audio/video enthusiast with a smaller system.
This smaller version of the 1200S is built with 6 Hubbell outlets and a 20-amp system. It may be linked with other Richard Gray's units in a "star-cluster array" to achieve even greater improvements in most systems.
The 600S uses an "electric flywheel effect to store and instantaneously release energy on-demand to supply current to components that are often starved for it by the resistance of a soft AC line."
The benefits to video components are more vibrant colors and better black-level detail for increased front-to-back dimensionality in all video formats. The benefits to audio equipment are increased dynamics, better bass response and a more effortless presentation of the music.
The 600S absorbs surges and actually protects the onboard metal oxide varister that is set to blow only if a surge makes its way past the inductor.
Suggested retail for the Richard Gray's 600S is $1,200 in anodized black and $1,300 in anodized silver.
