Best Brands Plus Renamed Mega

By Alan Wolf -- TWICE, 1/28/2002

GERMANTOWN, Tenn.— Best Brands Plus, the 600-member buying group for independent consumer electronics, furniture, mattress and major appliance dealers, has been renamed Mega Group USA.

The new moniker is designed to distinguish the group from its Best Brands Plus licensed banner identity program, and reflects a group reorganization that will allow members to more finely select the types and levels of programs and services they wish to participate in.

According to executive director Pat Reed, those services can range from basic buying group functions such as pricing and ordering, to advertising and business services, to the Best Brands Plus program. That effort, launched in 1996, provides uniform branding, colors, interior designs, signage and advertising and merchandising strategies to more than 100 member dealers in 10 states.

Staff and headquarters for the new Mega Group will not chang, and the completed transition is expected by April.
