JL Audio Delivers W7 Series

Staff -- TWICE, 11/5/2001

Miramar, Fla.— JL Audio has begun shipping its long-awaited W7 subwoofer series, which eliminates much of the distortion typical of sub-bass, according to VP of marketing and technical services Manville Smith.

The drivers, available now in 12 inches, with 10-inch and 13.5-inch versions to follow in January, "washes away the distortion that we've all become accustomed to listening to in the sub-bass," Smith said. The series employs the company's proprietary modeling technologies as well as six new patented or patent-pending technologies. It also features a new stable linear motor system and a large surround without sacrificing cone area, according to JL Audio.

Excursion capabilities for the W7 series are .9 inches, 1.15 inches and 1.25 inches, respectively. Suggested retail prices for the W7 series are $550 for the 10W7, $750 for the 12W7 and $950 for the 13W7.
