Maxell Introduces New DVD Care, Maintenance Line

Staff -- TWICE, 10/22/2001

Fair Lawn, N.J.— A full line of DVD care and maintenance products is available from Maxell Corp. of America. The line offers a new bright and bold packaging design that emphasizes the distinction between DVD care items and other care products. This is intended to help reduce consumer confusion at point of sale, while maximizing a retailer's assortment.

The line's DVD Lens Cleaner, called DVD-LC, features interactive instructions in eight languages and carries a suggested retail of $14.99. Instructions include system set-up, demonstrations of how to use DVD equipment and frequently asked questions.

The DVD-320 Disc Cleaner, priced at a suggested $14.99 retail, features an oversized and washable cleaning pad and an additional cleaning pad for longer life. Maxell is also offering a Combo Pack, the DVD-325, which consists of the DVD-LC Lens Cleaner and the DVD-320 DVD Disc Cleaner. Suggested retail for the DVD-325 is $19.99.

A DVD-335 Disc Repair Kit will repair up to 100 discs at a suggested $14.99 retail.

The new line is rounded out by the DVD-338 Cleaning Fluid, which cleans both discs and equipment. Bottles of 4-oz. spray have a $6.99 suggested retail, while DVD-305 lint-free cleaning cloths come in 50-packs at $6.99 suggested retail.

DVD-P4 Marker Pens, at $6.99 suggested retail, come in 4-packs of green, red, blue and black markers. These are ideal for use on DVD surfaces. The DVD-JC Storage Box, at a suggested $3.99 retail, can hold up to three discs each, and features an outer sleeve to hold movie jackets.

The new Maxell line is packaged in full-face blister packs that are distinctive from the company's CD Care products. All products are in case packs of six. The DVD care line was available in mid-September.
