JBL Launches GTi Component Systems

Staff -- TWICE, 10/22/2001

Woodbury, N.Y.— JBL introduced new 5-inch and 6-inch component systems under its high-performance GTi brand.

The new models, C508GTi and C608Gti, use JBL's Plus One technology for 30 percent more cone area. They also use JBL's Symmetrical Field Geometry with a new flux stabilization ring designed for less distortion.

The speakers have 2-inch aluminum edge-wound voice coils, a newly designed frame for long suspension travel and vented architecture for better cooling and power handling. Both systems have a titanium dome tweeter suspended by a rubber surround and offer I-Mount flexible mounting. Suggested retail prices for the systems are $600 for the C508, which ships in November, and $700 for the C608, which shipped in September.
