Mad Dog McCree Released For PS2

By Greg Tarr -- TWICE, 10/22/2001

Gormley, Ontario— Digital Leisure has released the long-running "Mad Dog McCree" live-action video game for the PlayStation 2 platform. The company also distributes versions of the game for CD-ROM and DVD-Video. The re-mastered title is the first to be released from a library of 10 arcade games originally produced on laserdisc in the 1990's by American Laser Games. Digital Leisure recently acquired the entire collection.

Other titles currently in production for a variety of platforms include: the "Crime Patrol" series, "Space Pirates" and "Who Shot Johnny Rock?"

"Mad Dog McCree," which carries a $49.95 suggested retail, is a quick-shooter game set in the old West. The interactive title contains live action video with authentic sound and scenery. Players use their controllers as virtual six-shooters to dual a variety of gunslingers in an old Western town. An old prospector gives players tips on where to find foes.
